Mobility is one of the signs of life, because it is essentially for all lifeforms. Because humans are built for mobility, starting from the fact of their anatomy and physiology, capable of living in an environment, that require a high amount of mobility, leads to the supposition, that humans need physical activity to keep their metabolism in bold. So it is possible, that a long time of inactivity leads to an impair of metabolism and secondary consequences of this fact. From this, a connection between less physical activity and an acquisition of disease has been in the focus of science for years. Although there are results that give a proof to this supposition, instead of using physical activity to get to the root of the problem, there is a high rate of development of new medics and other therapies. The quest is to find out on which and how many stages physical activity has an influence on the body, and if, in which amounts, to find ways to utilize this facts to increase health and reduce morbidity.
